A topless middle class man talking about open heart surgery and life. It’s funnier than it sounds. Trust me on this. After all, if you can’t laugh at open heart surgery, what can you laugh at? Told with humour and charm, this show will make you fully appreciate your own beating heart.
Tom puts a humorous spin on his tales of being born with what he describes as a ‘bum ticker’. During his hour long show the audience is treated to an equally comedic and cringe-inducing recounting of open heart surgery and its many repercussions.
Described as ‘quite the emotional roller coaster that you almost feel bad for laughing at his misfortunes’ by the Limerick Fringe Review, the show follows Tom through the last four years of his life and the heart surgeries and experiences that he has had.
Tickets £5 from the Box Office or on the door.

Iain Lee (I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, BBC Radio 4, talkRADIO) and Katherine Boyle (BBC Radio 4, talkRADIO) present an hour of silliness, stupidity and probably 1 or 2 Cher and Neil Diamond songs.
The Rabbit Hole is a phone in show recorded live in front of a baying audience who are welcome to join in at any time (if they want, no pressure here!).
Which Beatle could you beat in a fight?
Does anyone fancy and arm wrestle?
And we will be giving away free animals (not actual animals, just the concept of animals).
People can call in live during the show or ring now and leave a message to be played during the performance on 0203 286 6370 or Skype HeyRabbitHoleShow.
This show is entirely unscripted, unplanned and unrehearsed. What happens will be very funny and partly guided by you. Are you coming down The Rabbit Hole with us?
Tickets £8 available from TicketSource (booking fee applies), or on the door.
Please note that tickets are NOT available through the Shaftesbury Arts Centre Box Office.

One man, a piano and an unexpected item in the bagging area…
The 45-minute musical trolley-dash is a one-man show written and performed by Steve Clarke. It explores a typical journey through the supermarket and introduces the audience to the full range of customers and staff, while also educating them about some of the characteristics of romantic opera.
The musical shopping trip highlights all of the difficult choices that shoppers face, beginning with the ‘basket or trolley’ dilemma and ending with the heart-wrenching decision you face when you need to donate the blue token to one of three very deserving charities.
Steve Clarke is a Somerset-based writer, composer, performer and teacher. Tesco: The Opera! is his first solo show and was a sell-out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017. Clarke’s previous Fringe credits include songwriter and producer for the successful ‘Cluedo’ musical.
Clarke explains: ‘I enjoy observing characters in supermarkets and seeing how different people approach things. The inspiration for a lot of this show simply came from watching people doing their shopping. As soon as I notice something quirky or get an idea for a song I’ll get my phone out and start recording it. This has led to some strange looks from the checkout staff.’
