Traditional English Dance Group
The centre now has its own dance group specialising in the revival of older forms of English dance that it performs in a variety of public venues from street fairs to village halls.
Formed in November 2011, the group meets every Wednesday in the Rutter Room from 7-9pm. Anyone interested is welcome.

Other dance groups
Devotees of dance as a form of gentle exercise find an outlet at Pam Goodall’s Keep Fit Group (see below). More serious or energetic dancers are catered for by the Latin Dance Company led by world championship finalists Keith Parker and Rachel Pearson.
They meet every Monday in The Phoenix Room from 7.30pm until 11pm for Argentine tango, salsa and also social dancing. Payment is made direct to the organisers rather than the centre. Current rates are £7 per lesson or £10 for both tango and salsa.

Keep Fit
Keeping fit is organised by the Keep Fit Group. The group is for ‘active over 50s’ and meets most Wednesday mornings (10-11am) in the centre’s The Phoenix Room to ‘exercise and have fun’.
It is run informally, without a committee, by a volunteer who is a trained and qualified instructor registered with the Keep Fit Association. The group is small and mostly ladies of ‘a certain age’. The group has recently introduced dance as an ‘add-on’ option for those interested.
